Her most recent book is a literary biography of Lucille Clifton. Mary Jane Lupton is Professor Emeritus at Morgan State University in Baltimore, and has published numerous articles on African American and Native American literature. She resides in Cape May, New Jersey with her husband Kenneth Huntress Baldwin, who is Chair of English at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC).
